CVPositive is operated by Darren Emery, trading as Tempest Media, in Oxfordshire, United Kingdom. This notice explains what personal data is collected, why, and what you can do about it. It is written in plain English on purpose.
What is collected
Only what is needed to do the work: your name and email address, and whatever you choose to send — typically your current CV, a LinkedIn profile URL, and a note about the roles you are aiming at. A CV usually contains your employment history, qualifications and contact details, so it is treated as personal data throughout.
No cookies are set for advertising or tracking. No data is sold, rented or shared for marketing.
Why it is held, and on what basis
Your data is used to prepare and deliver the CV or LinkedIn rewrite you have asked for, and to correspond with you about it. The lawful basis is performance of a contract with you, or the steps taken at your request before entering one. Where you have simply enquired, the basis is legitimate interests — replying to someone who has contacted us.
How long it is kept
Working files and correspondence are kept for twelve months after the work is finished, so that a returning client is not asked to start again. After that they are deleted. If you want your data removed sooner, ask and it will be done.
Who else sees it
Your CV is read by Darren Emery and nobody else. It is not passed to recruiters, job boards or third parties. Email is handled by the Website’s hosting and mail providers in the ordinary course of delivering a message.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of the data held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to its use, or ask for it to be transferred. Email darren@tempestmedia.co.uk and it will be actioned without fuss.
If you are not satisfied with the response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
